Sports Cam iOS App

Dr Helmer designed and developed ‘Sports Cam’, Superinteractive’s iPhone camera app with configurable settings and an external track trigger, to meet the South Australian Sports Institute need to easily capture images of the men’s and women’s track cycling team during training at velodromes for fast performance feedback. The cyclists moving at over 63km/hr push the iPhones capability to its limit and the images obtained have assisted the team to set and reset their current World Record Time, pushing the sport to a new limit. As part of this work, Dr Helmer mentored two undergraduate student interns from Deakin University who assisted with preparing the iOS App for publication.
